Monterotondo – Piazza Sempione (ROME)

The route begins at the Cattedrale di Monterotondo, leading you through the picturesque landscapes of the Roman countryside. As you head toward Valle Ricca, you’ll quickly reach the stunning Riserva Naturale della Marcigliana. The gentle hills of the reserve are still used for farming and grazing, while its valley slopes are blanketed with oak vegetation. The scenery is enriched with ancient farmhouses and medieval towers, and on clear days, the iconic dome of the Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano is visible in the distance. Leaving the nature reserve, you’ll enter the urban area of Rome, where the stage concludes in front of the Chiesa dei Santi Angeli Custodi in Piazza Sempione.
